You don’t have to go to the gym to work out hard
It’s come to my attention that some people out there think that at-home workouts aren’t as effective as going to the gym. (😳 Whaaaaaaat??)
Now I’m not pointing any fingers here, but I’ll hypothesize that whoever blows such blasphemous statements into the wind clearly never once did a Billy Blanks Tae Bo DVD back in the old 1990s! 🤣
The blue leotard he wore that barely covered his manly nipples alone made your body wince in embarrassment .
Now, these naysayers think that working out at home means putting in the meekest of efforts while insinuating that those on the treadmills at the gym, reading the latest US Weekly while managing their TikTok feed, are crushing it!
I’ve worked out in the gym a lot and yes, some people are indeed crushing it — those early spin classes were nothing to snoot at — but to imply that between the two, the gym workouts produce stronger results are nothing but sugary fiddlesticks.
Truth be told, It’s not where you work out that matters, it’s what you bring to the workout that matters most!
And if those workouts are intense vs just showing up to say to your friends that you went to the gym that day, at-home workouts absolutely work!
If you’re one of the naysayers, I’d like to point out a few perks that working out at-home offers, that you won’t get from the fancy equipment-laden gym land.
Where do I begin?
- Quick start, quick finish → for y’all who are short on time, it’s a massive time saver! You can roll out of bed and onto your workout mat in seconds, press play, and get to it, all without having to brush your teeth! 🪥
- Privacy → workout in your underwear (or blue leotard!) because you’re not distracted by what other people are thinking. Feel free to look red-faced and downright frightening and no one will ever know!
- Zero wait time for equipment → No more having to wait for rude people who use up all the equipment and leave it nice and sweaty for you. Your at-home equipment is astonishingly cheap — it’s your body — that thing you haul around all day — and it’s all you need!
It comes down to this: which is more convenient and will take you less time so you can work out every day with as little fuss as possible?
And let's turn "I'll start tomorrow" into "Hey, that workout wasn't so bad!"
